Children’s Eye Exams
We Have Great Experience Working With Children
At What Age Should My Child Have His/Her Eye Exam?
According to the American Optometric Association (AOA), infants should have their first comprehensive eye exam at 6 months of age.
Children then should receive additional eye exams at 3 years of age, and just before they enter kindergarten or the first grade at about age 5.
Is My Child Ready For Contacts?
Children are usually able to handle contact lenses around the age of 10. Generally if your child is responsible with other every day tasks, they will be responsible with contact lenses.
Kids and contacts are a great match for sport and recreational activities. Contacts may offer a higher level of vision unobtainable with glasses.
Daily disposable contacts are recommended as they are the easiest to care for and healthiest for the eyes.
